Under-10 Sharks Still unbeaten in Winter League

OAKDALE — The Manteca Sharks under-10 girls soccer team maintained its unbeaten record in Bill Meyer Winter League action after a scoreless tie against Modesto and a 5-2 victory over Oakdale Saturday.
Goalkeeper Kaleigh Dole recorded her first shutout of the season and was aided by the great defensive play of Aleah Jarin.
Dole struck twice on the offensive end against host Oakdale, with Paige Gines also scoring a pair of goals. Britney Moneyhun contributed a goal. Ariana Cardenas and Alison Hoyer each chipped in an assist.
The Sharks opened winter league play Jan. 17 with an 8-1 victory over Stockton Storm 1, and a better-contested 1-0 win against Stockton Storm 2.
Cardenas highlighted Manteca’s blowout with a hat trick, and Patricia Tajii added two goals.
Moneyhun accounted for the deciding goal in the second game, and Bailey Glover was credited with the clean sheet.

Despite many opportunities to take leads, the Storm couldn’t cash in on them while settling on the draw. Center fullback Cheyenne Carter did her part to keep it scoreless with outstanding play on defense. Faith Lopez played well at goal.
