Auto thieves crash stolen car into parked vehicle on Jason Street

Car thieves earlier this week didn’t get far before they crashed in a vehicle parked in a drive way in the 800 block of Mt. Vernon Place at about 10 p.m. on Monday.

Manteca Police said the car was taken moments earlier from the 300 block of Jason Street and suspects failed to make the turn at the end of the block as they sped away from the victim’s home.  They reportedly fled on foot and were driven away by associates in a dark colored pickup truck.

Brandy Long also reported her vehicle was taken from the 400 block of South Airport Way earlier in the day on Monday.  

Residential burglaries continued to plague the community with a home being entered in the 800 block of Jahns Court.  Another residential burglary occurred on Tuesday in the 2000 block of Westboro Lane, police reported.  

On Tuesday and Wednesday  there were four more residential burglaries reported including one in the 600 block of West Alameda Street, and another in the `1700 block of Olivewood reported by Bill Eavenson.  A third occurred in the 1200 block of St. Francis Drive.  The fourth was in the 1000 block of Snowgoose Lane.

There were more auto burglaries as well with one reported in the 1800 block of East Yosemite Avenue.  Another car burglary was reported in the 1000 block of Milo Candini Drive with a second happening about 2 a.m. in the 1800 block of Gold Poppy Street.

Theft of auto parts was reported in the 1900 block of Giuliano Way with other thefts called into police in the 700 block of Industrial Park Drive and from the 400 block of Swallow Drive.
