Naomi Marie Branson, 32, was arrested by Manteca Police officers after allegedly stabbing a 45-year-old woman in the arm at a motel in the 300 block of Moffat Boulevard at about 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim refused medical aid at the scene and officers said Branson had fled on foot after the incident.  Officer Jeff Hooten located the assailant in the 200 block of Oak Street a short time later.

Branson was booked into San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp for assault with a deadly weapon and is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.  Her court date is set for today in the Manteca Branch of the San Joaquin County Superior Court at 1:30 p.m.
