Former Manteca Unified School District trustee Alexander Bronson, 22, was represented by his attorney at a continued court hearing in Superior Court on Wednesday.

Bronson, who has resigned his school board seat after being charged with election fraud, is scheduled to appear in Department 35 of the Stockton court on Aug. 5 for a preliminary hearing. Both Bronson and fellow trustee Ashley Drain with some 10 felony charges had first appeared in the same Superior Court room together in May.

They were later formally booked into San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.

Drain is also facing felony charges involving welfare fraud and grand theft.

Both Bronson and Drain are accused of listing addresses they did not reside at in order to claim they were residents of the Manteca Unified School District so they could run for the board. Both were elected in November.

Drain is now the subject of a recall.
