Sign up for mature classes at Delta

STOCKTON — Registration for fall classes at Delta College’s Stockton Institute for Continued Learning (SICL) will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Aug. 25 in Danner Hall on the Stockton campus.

Classes run from Sept. 4 to Nov. 16 and interested mature students can take as many classes as they want for $25 with the exception of a few classes which collect a materials fee. An additional $15 pays for a semester parking pass.

New classes being offered include: history of acting, beginning computers, Yuanji dance, beginning group piano, painting with acrylics, cooking (pizza, Mexican soups, spring rolls and lumpia and appetizers) Returning for fall are music history, beginning ukulele, beginning bridge, financial planning, games, quilting and a one-day class on making Baklava.

Other classes include writing, digital photography, tai chi chuan qigong, beginning stained glass, printmaking and play-only bridge. SICL membership includes attending the popular armchair traveler program.

Day trips, priced separately, are planned for Angels Camp, the McHenry Museum in Modesto and mystery tour that promises to be fun for all.
