Ripon Unified hires 5 additional teachers

The Ripon Unified School District hired five new certificated teachers for the 2024-2025 school year and added two more from position switches.

Of the latter, Christopher Lawrence and Gina Myers were the new teacher hirings for the upcoming school year.

They’ll join newcomers Renee Costello, Sarah Ramczyk, Sheyenne DeGregori, Alicia Lugo, and Luis Orendain – they’re teaching placements are to be determined.

RUSD added a school psychologist in Lana Scott along with a pair of night custodians in Manuel Valdez and Desiree Pereria, and school farm student manager in Vincent Martini.

Elizabeth Cruz was brought on as the new bilingual liaison at Ripon Elementary School while Natalie Schwertfeger, Alyssa Manchester, Reanna Souza, and Jessica Rosa were added as assistants to the Ripon Afterschool Program.

Among the new hires for the RUSD substitute pool were Sarah Beck Jasper (certificated), Marcus Davenport (certificated), McKenna Worsham (certificated), Matthew Due (custodial), Tom Xiong (custodial), Guy Wallen (custodial), Heath Hanks (custodial), Mark Stewart (custodial), Sarah Techeira (custodial), and Dora Panameno (food service).

RUSD, in addition, announced six resignations, including three from Ripona, and one each from Park View, Ripon El., and Weston.
