Recent change orders to the construction of the Fleet Maintenance Facility Project consisted of the installation of gas and communication conduits on Doak Boulevard.

Construction on the Fleet Maintenance Facility Project is nearing completion.

The latest update occurred April 9 at the Ripon City Council meeting.

Elected leaders approved a change order submitted by Diede Construction Inc. calling for the installation of gas and conduits across Doak Boulevard of the new corporation yard in the amount of $70,966 to be paid via several sources – notably, the Corp Yard AB1600 fund, Enterprise Capital Funds, and General Capital Fund.

No discussion was needed from elected leaders on this item from the April 9 meeting.

The change order on the PG&E gas conduit will consist of additional trenching, piping, backfilling, road repair work, sidewalk repair, and traffic control, totaling $55,819.

The other part of the work calls for installing conduit for the communication lines across the entire width of Doak Boulevard in order to provide service to the facility.

“This change will coincide with the above-mentioned gas conduit change,” said Public Works Director James Pease in his staff report.

That additional cost is $15,819.

Diede Construction, Inc. was awarded the Fleet Maintenance Facility Project back in December 2022.

Cost including the various change orders is currently at about $11.7 million for the 12,500 square foot maintenance building and parking lot project.
