The Arc Way Development moved forward Tuesday with the Ripon City Council giving the go-ahead on the Professional Services Agreement with BaseCamp Environmental, Inc.

The Lodi-based environmental consultant will prepare the CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act) compliance document for plans on the proposed convenience store, fueling station, and retail commercial development project at 769 Frontage Road.

That’s in the area of Sekhon & Sons Trucking, Inc. and the currently under construction Ripon Christian Schools bus and maintenance storage yard.

No discussion was necessary by elected leaders.

According to the staff report by Planning Director Ken Zuidervaart, the City of Ripon received the application from Sukhdev Singh for a proposed project back in June.

At last month’s meeting, Council approved a reimbursement agreement between the city and Singh for the processing of his application.

“In order to cover CEQA compliance and traffic analysis for the project, staff reached out to BaseCamp Environmental, Inc. for a proposal to cover the work,” said Zuidervaart.

He added: “Staff shared the proposal with the applicant and they have agreed to move forward with the selected consultant to prepare the necessary CEQA documents for the project.”

Cost to prepare the CEQA documents will be covered by the developer via the reimbursement account for this project.
