Completion date of Fall 2025 for 3,730-seat venue
RIVER ISLANDS STADIUM
RI stadium
A rendering of the stadium looking toward the entrance structure from the home bleachers.

The River Islands stadium will be a stadium unlike any other football stadium in the Northern San Joaquin Valley.

*It will:

*have a curving 684-square-foot curving entrance structure reminiscence of Roman coliseum arches with a main entrance arch flanked by seven arches on each side.

*be operated and maintained by a community facilities district.

*host community events on a regular basis including concerts.

*be part of a “town center” — or commercial district — with lakeside restaurants and stores within walking distance.

*be adjacent to the 550-seat Islanders Field, the fourth largest seating capacity baseball field in the Northern San Joaquín Valley after the 6,000-seat Bully Nebert Field in Stockton, the 4,200-seat Banner Island in Stockton and the 4,000-seat John Thurman Field in Modesto.

*be nestled against a greenbelt levee along the Old River Channel of the San Joaquin River.

The River Islands stadium will have seating for 3,730 people.

There will be two locker rooms and  two concession stand/restroom complexes.

It will serve as the home of the River Islands High Riptide football and soccer teams when it is completed in 2025.

It will add 244 parking spaces to the existing spaces now in place at the baseball field.

The City of Lathrop has permitted the stadium to operate between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.

It allows for the following events/activities:

*all sports-related activities including football and soccer practices/games.

*educational or civic gatherings such as graduations or State of the City presentations.

*civic events such as National Night Out.

*cultural events such as Lathrop Days.

*charitable events such as Heart Walks.

*concerts of up to 500 attendees.

*community events such as movies in the park, farmers market, and garage sales.

Approval of a separate Temporary Use Permit is be required for any event or activities not listed as determined by the Community Development Director to analyze traffic, noise, parking, policing and other issues of significance.

River Islands is a planned community of 15,001 homes.
