A new road just opened up in Ripon.

Garrison Way located west of Highway 99 and south of the Jack Tone Road interchange now extends past the Canal Street Grille restaurant to the soon-to-be-open Alpine Climbing Adventure Fitness gym at the Ripon Crossing shopping center, behind Boat Country, and connecting to South 99 Frontage Road.

Ripon High teachers Ann Pendleton and Rod Wright, who make up the online RHS Super Fan, happened along new road while driving around town on Tuesday.

"We've discovered a new road in Ripon —this is unbelievable," Wright said.

The road is often considered the back way to the Ripon Christian School campus.

The new section can expect to see more travelers in the coming years with projects such as the Shell gas station and convenience store with a Tommy's Express Car Wash coupled with the Burger King and Popeye Chicken restaurants already getting the green light from city officials.

Another newcomer to the mix could be the Happy Daze RV project which will go before the Ripon Planning Commission on April 19.

The public meeting will allow commissioners to possibly consider the Site Plan and related approvals for this project.

In addition, the applicant, Happy Daze RV, has already qualified for the City of Ripon's Economic Development Incentive Program
