The Lathrop Police Department welcomed its newest officer in Gabrielle Johnson.

She’s the Community Service Officer, coming to Lathrop police with nearly 17 years of experience at the Antioch Police Department.

“She’s worn many hats, from Animal Care Attendant to Community Service Officer,” said local police via social media on Monday.

As CSO, Johnson is non-sworn personnel who will be called upon to enhance the productivity and of the police department, handing service calls that don’t require the presence of an armed police officer.

She was the CSO for Antioch Police Department, serving as a jailer, PAS coordinator, and jail operations trainer while also holding a position in property and evidence.

Lathrop police, in addition, shared a fun fact about CSO Johnson – she’s a former horse-riding competitor and even rode with the UC Davis show team during her freshman year.
