Lathrop officer recognized for recovering stolen vehicles

Cpl. Justin Sangster of the City of Lathrop Police Department is a recipient of the California Highway Patrol’s ‘10851’ pin for his efforts of recovering eight stolen vehicles, of which six resulted in arrests, from Oct. 2 through Jan. 9.

This pin is awarded by the California Highway Patrol to police officers who demonstrate outstanding dedication to recovering vehicles and arresting auto thieves.

Between Oct. 2 thought Jan. 9, Cpl. Sangster was responsible for the recovery of eight stolen vehicles, with six of those resulting in arrests.

“His commitment to holding auto thieves accountable and recovering stolen vehicles is key to preventing future vehicle theft cries in our community,” said Lathrop police via social media.

Cpl. Sangster was recognized upon receiving the CHP ‘10851’ pin “on a job well done.”

The priority for local police – according to their mission – is “to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all who live, work, and visit our city.”
