About 10 years ago, the Ripon Historical Society held a roundtable featuring longtime residents.

They shared their personal stories of the early days of growing up in the Central Valley town along with being part of history’s Greatest Generation.

Connie Jorgensen, who is the curator at the Clarence Smit Museum, cherished those memories, and is looking forward to repeating that experience.

On Thursday, May 12, the museum at 430 E. Main St. will host “My Ripon Memories” beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Plans call for the roundtable event to be livestreamed via internet.

“These are some of the wonderful folks of Ripon who will be sharing their stories and adventures of growing up in small town Ripon,” Jorgensen said.

Included are Gerrie Alldrin Anderson, Frank Jorgensen, Adrian Fondse, Bert Ballatore, Joe Azevedo, Adeline Schaapman, Rena Swier and Bill Whitmore.

“They’re all over age 90,” said Connie Jorgensen, who continues to search out others who are of the same age – 90 and over – and grew up in Ripon to take part in the forum.

“It would be their stories and shared memories as they recalled how it happened,” she added.
