Manteca Unified grad season set to start May 15

A 2021 Sierra High graduate added a message to her mortar board.

May is graduation/promotion month.

The Manteca Unified School District announced that the first of many such celebrations will take place on Wednesday, May 15, starting with the Online Academy at New Vision beginning at 1 p.m.

Later that day, students at Calla High will bid adieu, starting their celebratory event at 6 p.m. at Delta College Atherton Auditorium in Stockton.

 On Thursday, May 16, the Manteca Adult Transition program and the Manteca Adult School will be conduct both ceremonies in the RESC Building at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., respectively.

Graduation at New Vision, the alternative education program located in the Weston Ranch community, is scheduled for Friday, May 17, at 7 p.m. inside the multi-purpose room or MPR.

The schedule for the eighth-grade promotions and high school graduation ceremonies is as followed:

·         Monday, May 20 – 9 a.m., French Camp (gym); 10 a.m., Joseph Widmer (MPR), Shasta (MPR); 3 p.m., August Knodt (gym), Sequoia (MPR).

·         Tuesday, May 21 – 9 a.m., Komure (cafeteria), Mossdale; 10 a.m., New Haven (gym), Stella Brockman (courtyard); 11:30 a.m., McParland (courtyard); 3:30 p.m., Woodward (MPR).

·         Wednesday, May 22 – 10 a.m., Great Valley (MPR), Lincoln (gym), Neil Hafley (courtyard), 11 a.m., Lathrop Elementary (gym); 4 p.m., Nile Garden (MPR).

·         Thursday, May 23 – 9 a.m., Brock Elliott (courtyard), Golden West (MPR), Joshua Cowell (courtyard); 1 p.m., Veritas (gym); 6 p.m., Weston Ranch High (stadium); 7 p.m., East Union High (Dino Cunial Field), Manteca High (Spanos Center-Stockton).

·         Friday, May 24 – 6 p.m., Lathrop High (stadium); 7 p.m., Sierra High (Daniel Teicheira Memorial Stadium).
