Longtime Ripon firefighters Neil Green has been promoted to the rank of battalion chief – one of three in the Ripon Consolidated Fire District.

The position has been vacant since the passing of Chief David Luis two years ago.

Josh Bodeson has been pinned the department’s new captain and will replace Green’s assignment on B-shift.  He graduated from the in-house fire academy and attended the EMT and Paramedic School at a San Joaquin County facility.

Bodeson’s grandfather Bud had served as a fire department volunteer for 32 years and had retired a year before he was born.  The elder Bodeson also served as Ripon’s postmaster.

Bodeson and his wife Brittany have three children Braden, 15, Emma 7 and Owen 4.
