The Ripon Police Department will be hosting another “Area of Responsibility” meeting on May 10.

The 7 p.m. session will be held in the police station at 259 N. Wilma Ave., and will cover Area No. 2 – north of Highway 99 / east of North Ripon Road.

This is one of four AOR meetings for this year.

The City of Ripon is divided into four geographical areas. “This provides a ‘team’ concept in our effort to work with the community and to ensure that problems are properly identified and resolved,” said police on the city website (www.cityofripon.org).

The AOR 2 team is led by Sgt. Paul Staley and consists of FTO Richard Francis, Det. Mike Perry, Officer Jacob Veltkamp, and Officer Eloy Magana.

The goal for the meeting is to improve the communications between residents of that area and the officers patrolling those neighborhoods.

Officers will also provide safety tips that may be unique to AOR 2.
