BLACKSTONE, Mass. (AP) — Police have arrested and charged a woman in connection with the living conditions at the Massachusetts home where the bodies of three infants were found.

Blackstone Police Department spokesman John Guilfoil says the woman is a resident of the home and is now in police custody. Her name was not released. Guilfoil said Thursday that the woman is not being charged in the deaths of the children. No criminal charges have been filed in connection with the deaths.

Guilfoil said the department is unable to release more details about the woman or the charges she faces, citing state law, until her arraignment on Friday.

He said investigators remain on the scene.

Authorities say the home where the infants’ remains were found was in deplorable conditions with vermin and piles of diapers.
