Lathrop High student Prakriti Sunar took first-place in the San Joaquin County Office of Education’s Winter Art Card Contest. Her work was featured on the cover of SJCOE Outlook Magazine

Outlook is a publication by the San Joaquin County Office of Education that comes out four times a year.

Included in these pages – available online at www.bit.ly/SJCOENews - are the accomplishments of students, educators, schools, and programs throughout the county.

Several students locally had their art works featured on SJCOE holiday cards, most notably, Lathrop High student Prakriti Sunar, who did a winter wonderland piece featured on the cover of the magazine.

She took first place in the annual Winter Art Card Contest, which, according to SJCOE, is “one of our favorite traditions.”

Each year, students throughout San Joaquin County submit their art work for the holiday cards, with the first-place finisher and runner-up’s having their work featured on Outlook magazine.

Sunar finished ahead of fellow LHS art student Jazymn Aldaco – her work featured snowman – followed by Jeffrey Wilkins (Lincoln High, Lincoln Unified), Mia Steely (Dent Elementary, Escalon Unified), Keegan Dillon (Park View Elementary, Ripon Unified), Zonira Shanza (Art Freiler School, Tracy Unified), and Zander Castaneda (Redwood School, SJCOE).
