COLUMBIA, Md. (AP) — Maryland police said Tuesday that they were investigating the financial records, cell phone and computer of a man who killed two people and then himself inside a shopping mall.

The Howard County police department said on its Twitter account that detectives were examining the records of Darion Aguilar to “learn more about his activities.” No further information about the records was immediately released, though police have been seeking clues on a motive in Saturday’s shooting inside the Mall in Columbia.

Investigators are also analyzing a cell phone found on Aguilar’s body and the computer at his home, but police say no new information has been discovered.

Police have said Aguilar used a legally purchased shotgun to kill two employees of a skate gear store and then shot himself. Authorities have said a journal found at Aguilar’s home expressed general unhappiness, but they have not been able to pinpoint a reason for the shooting or a connection between the 19-year-old College Park man and the two victims.

The mall, located in suburban Baltimore, reopened for business on Monday.

Bruce Goldfarb, a spokesman for the state medical examiner’s office, said Tuesday that the gunman died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after sticking the weapon in his mouth. One victim, 21-year-old Brianna Benlolo, died from gunshot wounds to the neck and chest, and the second victim, 25-year-old Tyler Johnson, also suffered multiple gunshot wounds, Goldfarb said.
