TURLOCK  (AP) — Turlock police didn't have to travel far to nab a man suspected of breaking into a woman's apartment.

Larry Laugen, 37,  was arrested Wednesday at the Turlock police station where he had gone to register as a sex offender.

Police say a woman at the station pointed out Laugen, claiming he had broken into her apartment.

Officials say earlier in the day the woman reported that a man had entered her home and left when she confronted him. He claimed he had the wrong home.

Police say officers couldn't find the suspect and asked the victim to come to the station. That's where the woman recognized Laugen and said "Hey, that's the guy."

Laugen was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
