STOCKTON — The Blue Moon Taste of San Joaquin returns to Downtown Stockton’s Weber Point on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The festival entering its sixth year features championship BBQ and great music.

In keeping with the original theme of the event, admission will be only $5, and kids under 12 are free. Tickets are currently on sale and available at the Stockton Arena Box Office and through Ticketmaster.com.

Music at this year’s event will feature star Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, who brings her unique brand of rock and jazz to the festival. Also performing will be Stockton favorites Latin Magic, Big Earl and the Poorhouse Millionaires, and House of Orange.

In 2012, the event drew over 9,000 attendees and over 20 restaurants, while the BBQ competition drew in over 30 teams from various parts of California. This event has also raised several thousand dollars for local organizations since its start, from the Sister Cities program to the Edison High School Cheerleaders.
