WINERY LEAVING NAPA TO EXPAND IN LODI: LODI - A big name in wine is choosing to leave Napa and come to Lodi to expand their company.
The company that owns Sutter Home, the Trinchero Family Estates, has been purchasing most of their grapes from Lodi and trucking them to Napa. Recently, they decided that wasn’t good business.
Now they will be making their wine in Lodi.
The Lodi Appellation produces more wine grapes than Napa and Sonoma combined.
The company has a small facility off of Interstate 5 they currently have 50 employees but they will be expanding to 400 people.

EXPLOSION INJURES STOCKTON MAN: STOCKTON - A man was injured after an explosion in the parking lot of a Stockton motel Tuesday night.
Stockton Police responded to the Stockton City Motel on 1022 S. Wilson Way around 9:30 p.m. after getting a call about hearing gunshots or a bomb exploding, Lt. Eric Kane said.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from minor injuries from a small explosion in the parking lot. Officers also found a pipe bomb in the vehicle the man was in.
Kane said an EOD team responded to the scene and were in the process of trying to disarm the device as of 12:05 a.m.
The team was expected to be on the scene for a couple of hours. Kane said there were no evacuations.
MORE DETAILS IN DOUBLE MURDER IN STOCKTON: STOCKTON - The Stockton Police Department has released a drawing of one of several gunmen who took aim at a gathering in front of a home Sunday night, killing two people and wounding three others.
Killed were Juanita Julia Maldonado, 36, and Juan "Junior" Sarrarez , 21.
Police spokesman Officer Joe Silva said detectives have learned that three or four individuals, described as Hispanic males, walked up to the group on the 1800 block of E. Sonora Street at 8:10 p.m. and began shooting. Witnesses described one of the individuals as in his 20s, light-skinned, and of average height and weight. He had a thin moustache and wore a gray, hooded sweatshirt.
The gunmen drove off in a white or cream-colored vehicle, last seen headed on northbound Locust Street from Sonora Street.
Silva said detectives believe the shooting was gang-related.

BLAZE DESTROYS 2 HOMES ON BETHEL ISLAND: BETHEL ISLAND (AP) — Two homes have been destroyed and a third damaged in an early morning fire on an island in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta about 60 miles northeast of San Francisco.
Fire officials say they were called to a burning one-story home on Bethel Island around 2:26 a.m. Wednesday. The fire eventually spread to two adjacent two-story homes.
No one was seriously injured although it took crews more than four hours to bring the fire under control.
East Contra Costa Fire Battalion Chief Hugh Henderson says a PG&E power line fell during the blaze, forcing firefighters to battle the fire at one of the houses from the outside.
