The Soroptimist International of Ripon is calling the area’s best foursomes – men, women and mixed – to Spring Creek Golf and Country Club for its annual golf tournament on May 5.

The tournament tees off at noon and will follow a Texas scramble format.

The event helps fund the Soroptimist’s awards and scholarship program, as well as its participation in community events and organizations, such as: Color the Skies, the Women’s Crisis Center, Relay for Life, the Children’s Hospital Central California, Marissa’s Closet and the Almond Blossom Queen Contest.

Registration is $130 per golfer and includes lunch, green fees, cart, “tea bag” gifts, course refreshments and an awards dinner following the round.

The tournament will feature hole-in-one and putting competitions, a mystery hole and a ball-drop contest that will pay out the winner $1,000. A maximum of 300 tickets will be sold – at $10 per – for the ball-drop contest, and non-golfers are encouraged to participate.

You can register at www.soroptimistripon.com or by contacting Char Witke at (209) 324-9673 or Dawn Krebbs at (209) 573-0770. Day-of registration will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Soroptimist is also looking for businesses to sponsor the holes. For $100, a business will receive a large sign on a tee box.
