Abraham “Abe” Karim, age 76, entered into rest on August 27, 2013 in Manteca.  He was born on January 31, 1937  in French Camp to the late Abdul and Guadalupe Karim. He is also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He was a resident of Manteca for 27 years.
   Abe is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Karim of Manteca, his children, Joe Karim (Shelly) of Manteca and Kirsten Karim of Manteca. He was blessed with one grandchild, Rachael Ann Karim. He also leaves behind five sisters and four brothers.
   Abe served in the United States Army Signal Corps and after the service, worked as a warehouseman.
   Abe was a strong believer and supporter of youth sports in the community and very involved. He was involved in CYO basketball, track and field. He served as Athletic Director with the Catholic School in Berkeley and Northern California Council for CYO, President of the Northgate Little League, Board Member of the District 8 Little League in Stockton. In Albany, California he coached women’s softball winning the City Championship.  He was a member of the Cursillo Movement (a Catholic movement).  He was a fabulous cook and ran a restaurant when he lived in Albany. Abe cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know him. 
   P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca, is honored to be serving the Karim Family. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013,  from 9:00am to 11:00am,  followed by a Chapel Service/Rosary at 11:00am, at PL Fry & Son Funeral Home.
