Cirila Maria Acosta passed away peacefully on Dec. 9, 2009 in Manteca, California. She was born on March 29, 1917 in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte in the Philippines.

She was the beloved wife of the late Dominador Acosta who passed away in June 1995 in Manteca.

SURVIVORS: Children and spouses, Ernesta and Eddie Aquino; Aurelio and Nerie Acosta of Lathrop. Grandchildren: Gloria Diaz of Weston Ranch, Edmundo and Noel Aquino, Amy Villacino and Milagros Mondonedo of the Philippines; Renelle Acosta of San Jose, and Deryl Acosta of Sacramento.

One sister and brother-in-law, Simeona and Jose Albano, Sr. of Fremont. Twelve great-grandchildren in Weston Ranch and in the Philippines.

Numerous nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews in Manteca, Lathrop, Fremont, Chicago, Hawaii, and New York.

A devout Catholic all her life, Mrs. Acosta was the loving mother and grandmother and great-grandmother not only to her own children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren but also to numerous nieces and grand-nieces, nephews and grand-nephews. They were her pride and joy and the center of her life. She enjoyed cooking for the family. Her incomparable Philippine dishes have never been duplicated by anyone in her family.

Quiet simplicity, honesty, and generosity were the traits that defined her life.

Visitation is Saturday, Dec. 19, 3 to 6 p.m. at Chapel of the Palms, corner Lafayette Ave. and California St. in Stockton.

Rosary is  Sunday, Dec. 20, at 3 p.m., Chapel of the Palms.

Mass of Christian Burial is Monday, Dec. 21, 10 a.m., St. George’s Catholic Church, 144 W. Fifth Street corner Commerce in Stockton. Burial will immediately follow at Park View Cemetery at French Camp Road in Manteca.
