Henrietta Bulthuis was born in Hospers, IA, to William and Pearl Vander Ploeg. She married Raymond Bulthuis April 29, 1941. Ray and Henrietta lived in Artesia, CA, until 1956 when they moved to Ripon. She is now in heaven joining her parents, her husband Ray and her brother Henry Vander Ploeg. She always loved children and is now able to see her sons William and Raymond Dale who died as toddlers and her grand daughter Jessica Bulthuis and great grand daughter Ella Sterious who died as infants.

Henrietta is survived by her children, Pete and Lori Bulthuis (Ripon), Keith and Pat Bulthuis (Logan,UT), Jan and Randy Hartzell (McMinneville, OR), Linda and Ron DeYoung (Littleton, CO), Debra and Ron Van Essen (Ripon) and Sue and Dirk Drost (High Point, NC). In addition she has 18 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Thelma Pott, and brothers Chasper Vander Ploeg and Robert Vander Ploeg.

Henrietta was a marvelous cook who always welcomed any and all to her table. She made amazing fruit pies that were enjoyed by family, neighbors and friends. She was also a gifted seamstress and sewed clothes for her four daughters throughout their youth.
