Editor, Manteca Bulletin,
On Wednesday, Feb. 4, my wife and I and my 7-pound Yorkie were coming back from a walk to the Diamond Oak Park. We were on Sangria Street next to my house when all of a sudden two pit bulls came charging from Diamond Oak Street.
I started reeling in my Yorkie’s leash because it was extended, while trying to get him close to me. The grey pit bull came close. I pushed him with my walking stick. He turned and grabbed my Yorkie and started shaking him like a rag doll. I started hitting him with the stick about 10 or 12 times while my wife screamed and kept the black pit bill away from her. Finally he dropped my dog and then he came after it again. I went after it to keep it away. My wife picked our Yorkie up and gave it to me to take to the vet while the pit bull ran. The grey one came back tail wagging to get my Yorkie again. I hit the pit bull one more time and it ran off to a house. My neighbor called animal control and we went to the vet where my Yorkie died.
The pit bulls that live on Port Street were taken to animal shelter where I identified the grey on that killed my 8 year old Yorkie.
