RANCHO CUCAMONGA (AP) — Ibandel Isabel homered and had two hits, and Yadier Alvarez allowed just one hit over five innings as the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes beat the Modesto Nuts 7-5 on Monday.

Parker Curry struck Jordan Cowan out with a runner on first to end the game for his third save of the season.

Alvarez (1-2) picked up the win after he struck out five and walked one while allowing one run.

Modesto started the scoring in the first inning when Chris Mariscal hit a solo home run.

The Quakes took the lead for good with four runs in the third inning. Omar Estevez hit a two-run single en route to the three-run lead.

The Quakes later added single runs in the fourth, sixth and eighth innings to secure the victory.

Reggie McClain (7-3) went 2 2/3 innings, allowing four runs and five hits in the California League game. He also struck out one and walked two.

Despite the loss, Modesto is 4-1 against Rancho Cucamonga this season.
