MODESTO (AP) — Willie Argo drove in Kyle Lewis and Luis Liberato with a sacrifice fly in the third inning, leading the Modesto Nuts to a 6-4 win over the Stockton Ports on Thursday.

The sacrifice fly gave the Nuts a 5-3 lead.

The Nuts tacked on another run in the fourth when Jordan Cowan scored on an error.

Stockton saw its comeback attempt come up short after Sandber Pimentel hit an RBI single, bringing home Skye Bolt in the fifth inning to cut the Modesto lead to 6-4.

Modesto right-hander Robert Dugger (1-0) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing four runs on five hits over six innings. Opposing starter Logan Shore (1-5) took the loss in the California League game after a rough outing in which he allowed five runs and four hits over three innings.

Marvin Gorgas pitched two scoreless innings for his fourth save of the season.

Brett Siddall doubled and singled for the Ports.
