Colorado State puts away Pacific

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — J.J. Avila scored 16 points, Daniel Bejarano added 14 and Colorado State defeated Pacific 75-64 on Friday night, advancing to the Great Alaska Shootout championship.

The Rams (5-0) pulled away early, opening the game on a 16-3 run as Bejarano hit a 3-pointer, layup and jumper. Joe De Ciman converted a three-point play and nailed a 3-pointer to push Colorado State’s lead to 18 at the midway mark in the first half.

Dulani Robinson hit two from deep as Pacific (3-3) opened the second half with a 12-2 surge to pull within seven, but the Tigers couldn’t inch any closer.

Colorado State took care of the ball, shooting 52.2 percent from the field and committing just seven turnovers. Stanton Kidd and Gian Clavell each scored 13 points and De Ciman contributed 11.

Robinson hit seven of Pacific’s 13 3-pointers and finished with 26 points. Alec Kobre chipped in 14 points.
