MHS alum Range scores 8 in Cal win

BERKELEY (AP) — Reshanda Gray scored 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting as No. 14 Cal won its home opener on Tuesday night, defeating Nevada 76-54.

Mikayla Cowling hit 3 of 4 3-pointers, scoring 13 points as the Bears shot nearly 50 percent from the field (30-61) and made 7 of 13 3-pointers.

Manteca High alum Courtney Range scored eight points on 3-of-10 shooting and pulled down nine rebounds for the Golden Bears.

No. 18 DePaul women take down Bradley 101-77

CHICAGO (AP) — Brittany Hrynko scored 19 points, had eight assists and seven steals to lead the No. 18 DePaul women past in-state rival Bradley 101-77 on Tuesday night at the Allstate Arena. Hrynko has scored 19 in three of DePaul’s four games this season.

Chanise Jenkins and Megan Rogowski added 16 apiece for DePaul (3-1). Megan Podkowa had 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Megan Podkowa and Ashton Millender contributed 10 apiece.

Nilles leads No. 24 Gonzaga past Idaho State 88-63

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Shaniqua Nilles scored a career-high 18 points off the bench, Sunny Greinacher added 15 and No. 24 Gonzaga dominated the second half in an 88-63 win over Idaho State on Tuesday night.

The Bulldogs (2-0), who have won 28-straight regular-season home games, made a school record 37 free throws on 48 as the Bengals had 37 fouls with four players fouling out.

No. 22 Rutgers pushes past Northeastern 74-60

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Betnijah Laney had 14 points with 13 rebounds, Briyona Canty finished with 12 points and 10 assists, and No. 22 Rutgers pushed past Northeastern 74-60 on Tuesday night. The Scarlet Knights shot 53.3 percent from the field and had four starters score in double figures.
