Cassie Waggy, a 2011 graduate of East Union High, helped power Division-I Lehigh’s softball to two wins in the Rebel Spring Games Monday.

In Kissimmee, Fla., Lehigh downed Sacred Heart 7-0 before blasting South Dakota 12-5.

Waggy clubbed an RBI double against Sacred Heart.

The true freshman especially shined in Game 2 for the Mountain Hawks, who were down 5-0 early to South Dakota. Waggy sparked the comeback with a two-run single in the fourth and hacked the go-ahead single during a 10-run fifth. She finished 2 for 2 with four RBIs.

Lehigh opened the tournament Sunday with a 5-3 loss to Indiana State and a 4-0 victory over South Dakota.

Waggy is 5 for 6 with three doubles and five RBIs in the tournament so far. Play resumes today against Saint Francis and Detroit.

For the season, Waggy is hitting .417 (5 for 12).
