Realignment in the Sac-Joaquin Section has only made the tradition-rich Trans Valley League even stronger, and not just in football.

Longtime girls volleyball powerhouses Ripon Christian and Sonora have arrived, but two of the originals reigned.

Ripon (12-0, 30-3 overall) repeated as league champion, doing so in dominant fashion with just a single set conceded. The Indians went on to win the Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV playoffs, earning the seventh SJS title in program history. It also marked the 11th straight year that a TVL team reached a section final.

Junior outside hitter Adriana Dorn led the way and was named the TVL’s Most Valuable Player. She is one of four Ripon players to make all-league. Third-place Ripon Christian (7-5, 20-17) has two All-TVL selections.

The 6-foot-1 Dorn finished as one of the most productive and efficient hitters in the SJS. In league play, she amassed 176 kills at an impressive 5.0-per-set clip. She was also the team’s service leader with 42 aces while adding 35 digs and 15 blocks.

Senior setter Katelyn Bogetti, sophomore Jorie Eskes and senior outside hitter Shayla McKeon are Ripon’s first-team selections.

Bogetti anchored the attack with 366 assists, adding 27 kills, 19 aces, 14 blocks and 29 digs. Eskes racked up 130 kills and 20 blocks, while McKeon contributed 103 kills and nine blocks.

Emeri Lane, Amelia Lara and Alayna Sprinkle got honorable mention.

libero Anneke Dyt on the all-league team.

Van Hofwegen was an all-around contributor, tallying team-highs 175 kills, 18 aces and 18 blocks in league. She also accumulated 158 digs, second to Dyt’s 217. Junior setter Alanna Blanco and junior middle blocker Brynn Bohn made honorable mention.

Receiving Most Outstanding Player honors was outside hitter Finley Rosa of runner-up Hilmar (9-3, 30-10), which was eliminated in the semifinal round of the SJS Division IV playoffs but made a run to the California Interscholastic Federation Division IV state final. The NorCal champion Yellowjackets lost in five sets to South Pasadena.
