The East Union High girls golf team got back on the winning track Thursday.

After seeing their string of 61 straight match wins snapped earlier this week, the Lancers rebounded by defeating Weston Ranch at the Manteca Park Golf Course, 244-320.

Senior Jenny Ketner came up with a strong effort in the front nine of the Valley Oak League match, earning medalist honors with a 4-over-par 41.

“She’s starting to come around,” said East Union coach Dennis Wells. “Jenny has a lot of potential.”

Angelique Cardoza helped out by carding a 50. She edged out teammates Jordan Vinson, Kimmie Lamar and Kailee Nuding, with each shooting identical 51s.

Weston Ranch was led by Janelle Mungeal, who fired a 56.

Sasha Straneler finished with a 57.

East Union will face Kimball at the Tracy Golf and Country Club on Tuesday.
