Former Ripon High star and two-time Bulletin All-Area MVP Justin Graham is enjoying his best year at San Jose State as a senior and was rewarded for it Sunday.

Graham is one of two groundbreaking Spartans to be recognized on the all-Western Athletic Conference men’s basketball team, earning honorable mention. He was also named to the all-defensive team, making him the first San Jose State men’s basketball player to receive multiple honors in the same season.

Teammate Adrian Oliver, a graduate of nearby Modesto Christian of Salida, is the program’s first to make the all-WAC first team twice.

Graham, a 6-foot-4 point guard, is averaging 14.8 points per game and is SJSU’s season and career leader in assists and steals. The Spartans (15-14) return to action Wednesday against Hawaii in the first round of the WAC Tournament.

In the Big Sky Conference, 2008 Weston Ranch graduate and UC Santa Barbara junior James Nunnally also earned honorable mention. Pacific’s Sam Willard was named to the first team, and Allen Huddleston joins Nunnally on the honorable-mention list.

The 6-7 Nunnally averages 16.6 points and 5.6 rebounds. His Gauchos (15-13) meet UOP (16-14) Thursday to open the Big West Tournament.
