Matt Rose edged out Justin Morrish by a stroke for low-medalist honors, but the team scores weren’t as close.
Rose carded a 1-over-38 at Manteca Park Golf Course’s front nine to lead Sierra’s 227-262 win over Morrish and crosstown foe Manteca on Tuesday.
Sierra, now 4-2 in the Valley Oak League, had three golfers score better than Manteca’s second best finisher. Chris Schmitz turned in a solid 41, Chuck Good contributed a 46 and Blake Settlemoir posted a 47. Isaac Gutierrez capped the Timberwolves’ score with a 55.
Others scoring for the Buffaloes (2-5) were Brandon Ramirez (49), Donal Hinkston (56), Gus Ladue (57) and Jacob Tolbert (61).
Sierra hosts Lathrop today while Manteca next takes on Lathrop on Thursday at French Camp Golf Course.

The Lancers improved to 5-2 in the VOL behind Eric Lewis’ 6-over 38 at French Camp Golf Course.
Ryan Lee was co-runner-up with a 41, Trevor Baum added a 42, Clayton Dorland a 43 and Manuel Telles a 44.
Lathrop’s Geoff Fallon played bogey golf for his best round at French Camp, carding a 41. Sam Fallon fired a 46, Nick Berndt a 56, Matt Fallon a 57 and Robert Berndt a 61,

The still-unbeaten Knights dominated Tuesday’s match at Jack Tone Golf Course, with all of their players shooting 7-over or better.
Kyle Colyn finished 1-over 32 to lead the way, and Andrew Manes trailed the leader by two stroke. Jesse DeRousse (37), Vance Sipma (38) and Tristin Vos (38) rounded out Ripon Christian scoring.
Austin Zipper led Waterford with a 48.
