Arianna Pale and Jessica Ingalls led East Union’s girls golfers to a 278-287 Valley Oak League win over Sierra on Tuesday at Manteca Park Golf Course.
Pale was low medalist with an 8-over 44, and Ingalls finished as runner-up with a 49. Sierra’s Alyssa Suarez had the third-place score of 51.
Rounding out scoring for East Union (2-0 VOL, 4-0 overall) was Alizae Farias (53), Kaylee Brown (66) and Kaydance Hebert (66).
Scorers for Sierra included Emma Basile (53), Noah Ingua (55), Hannah Williamson (63) and Kate Marie de Belen (65).
Lathrop 261, G. Davis DQ
Lathrop won the Western Athletic Conference match via forfeiture at Dryden Park Golf Course, as Grace Davis did not field a full team.
Ashley Abon paced Lathrop’s top four with a 54. Kate Albisu added a 60, while Kriselle Matela had a 70 and Janeese Romo at 77.

The Spartans (4-1) recorded their fourth straight win behind strong defensive efforts from Angelique Gonzalez (seven tackles, interceptions) and Heiddy Camacho (two interceptions).
Quarterback Luz De Luna completed three touchdowns, and Melia Lewis returned a punt 45 yards for a touchdown, Jaleiyah Ray scored twice, one on a 66-yard run and the other a 6-yard reception.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Pitman 3, Ripon Christian 1
In Turlock, the Knights (5-2) were able to keep it competitive but ran out of steam in the 18-25, 22-25, 25-15, 9-25 loss. Pitman improved to 5-0.
Haley Kootstra and Paige Van Hofwegen led the attack with nine kills apiece. Van Hofwegen also picked up 12 digs.
Alanna Blanco finished with 34 assists, Bella Blanco added 14 digs and Brynn Bohn had two aces.
Ripon Christian’s JV swept its best-of-three, while the freshmen took care of business, 2-0.
