Tran buoys Ripon girls’ 3rd-place finish in Zador Invite

Crystallynn Tran tallied three first-place finishes and a second Saturday to lead the Ripon girls to a third-place finish with 301 points in the Ervin Zador Memorial Invite at the Ervin Zador Aquatic Center.

Tran won the 100-yard butterfly in 1 minute, 1.19 seconds, finished second in the 100 backstroke (1:03.74) and along with Reyna Biedermann, Tori Rich and Madeline Staley won the 200 freestyle relay (1:46.57) and the 400 freestyle relay (3:58.55).

Staley was second in the 200 freestyle (2:06.78) while Biedermann finished third in the 200 freestyle (2:07.35) and 100 breaststroke (1:14.43).

Keira Brink won the 50 freestyle (25.64) and 100 freestyle (55.67) for the Sierra girls which finished fifth (162). Jennifer Graves won the 200 freestyle (2:03.87) and was second in the 500 freestyle (5:31.49) while Stephanie Thomason was fifth in the 500 freestyle (6:25.80)

The Ripon boys finished fourth (158 points) with Owen Curtiss, Andrew Hanker, Chetan Harvey and Nathan Selna finishing fourth in the 200 freestyle relay (1:41.68) and fifth in the 200 medley relay (1:53.13). Curtiss was fifth in 100 freestyle (51.87) and Selna was fifth in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.62).
