Red Sox sail past Nationals during Manteca Juniors

Ryan Zimmermann led the Red Sox to a 6-1 win over the Nationals last Monday in Manteca Little League junior division action at Morenzone Field.

Zimermann allowed only one run over four innings pitched and reached base five times, going 2 for 2 with a pair of walks and was hit by a pitch, scoring two runs. 

Matt Dunham, Austin Kovacs and Eddie DeFrenchi also banged out two hits as the Red Sox broke open a 3-1 game with three runs in the seventh inning to put it away.  

Tyler Garlets and Garren Genilla each had two hits for the Nationals.

Mets 19, A’s 7

The Mets came out swinging in the first inning with Mitch Lill setting the tone with a two-run double. 

Both teams were able to find the other side of the fence. Eric Miramontes (2 for 4, home run, double) and Danny Peters (2 for 3, home run) each had a home run for the A’s as did Jayden Lopez (2 for 3, home run, double) for the Mets.

Jacob Petersen helped round out the Mets attack, going 3 for 5 with a double and three runs. He had support from Ethan Reif who was 2 for 3 with three runs, Logan Kullung (2 for 2, two runs) and Ashton Heath (three runs).
