Avalos, Guardado score twice for U-14 Sporting

Eduardo Avalos and Franklin Guardado were two of a kind during the under-14 boys Sporting’s 4-2 victory over the Lobos Saturday at Woodward Park.

The Sporting tandem opened the Manteca Area Soccer League season with two goals each, while goalkeeper Daniel Botelho did his part on the other end of the pitch to seal the win.

Under-12
Strikers 7, Vipers 1

Arturo Galvin recorded a hat trick and Tanner Peterson contributed a goal and an assist in the Strikers’ one-sided season opener. The Strikers dominated throughout, holding a commanding 14-3 shot advantage.

Zachary Carter and Anzel Perilla each scored as well.

Under-10
Red Bulls 6, Chivas USA 6

The Red Bulls rallied late from a 5-2 halftime deficit force the deadlock result.

Noath Valdez and Joey Barbuscia each scored twice. Grant Silva and Anthony Cavazos chimed in with one apiece. Cavazos also keyed the comeback at goalie, as he allowed just one goal in the second half.

Pythons 4, Fury 0

Midfielder Gino Campiotti and goalie Dylan Gross stood out in the Fury loss.

Timberwolves 7, Pumas 1

Gerado Cabrera and Jacob Peterson played a big part in the Timberwolves’ offensive onslaught.
