Teaming Individuals Emphasizing Sports and Future Stars 2000 are joining forces to put on a special two-day fundraising event that will support both organizations.

The event — dubbed “2014 Knock Out Barriers with The Champ” — begins with Casino Night Sept. 26 at Chez Shari. Former three-time world boxing champion Tony “The Tiger” Lopez will appear as a guest speaker. The night begins from 6-8 with a reception and dinner. Then from 8-11 there will be a live DJ and no-host bar as participants get to try their luck at the roulette, poker, craps and blackjack tables.

A day later, Manteca Tennis Center is hosting the Up/Down Team Tennis Tournament which will feature wheelchair and able-bodied athletes.

A minimum $50 donation is required to attend one or both events.

“This is the first time we’ll be doing something like this, but we hope to make this an annual event,” said Future Stars 2000 Executive Director Lance Turner.
