Varsity team goes on romp at Riverbank

RIVERBANK — Mason Tameling threw for two touchdowns, ran for one and booted five conversion kicks as the Ripon Knights varsity scored in every quarter Saturday on the way to a 52-6 romp over the Central Valley Outlaws in Trans-Valley Youth Football action at Riverbank High School.

Tameling (105 yards passing, 40 yards rushing) had scoring throws of 72 yards to J.P. Abrew and 33 yards to Amos Cady while running in a score from 40 yards out. Blake Stuit (eight carries, 61 yards) added touchdown runs of 26 and 27 yards and Lushen Sanders (106 yards rushing) started the Ripon scoring parade with a 2-yard touchdown run. J.J. Brawley capped Ripon’s scoring with a 30-yard scoring run.

Dax Beildeman paced the Knights defense with 10 tackles followed by Eddie Ramirez with eight stops and Chase Bunnell with five. Eli Briseno, Matthew Chapman, Patrick Cory and Grady Olsen were all in on sacks.

 

Junior varsity

Knights 21, Outlaws 18

Ripon carried a 21-14 lead into the fourth quarter and held on for the win.

Kaeo Sanchez (six carries, 80 yards) scored on a 50-yard run for the Knights, Gavin Decena (five carries, 43 yards) added a 22-yard run and Mason Durao (4 of 10 passing, 52 yards, interception) scored on his lone run from 1 yard out. Jax Clark made two receptions for 44 yards with  Mason Clark and Xavier Powell also contributing on offense.

Joshue Gonzales and Kaeo Sanchez paced the Ripon defense with eight tackles apiece and

Jax Booth and Drew Walker each made seven tackles. Josiah Van Vliet added four tackles and an interception with Zander Rivera making four stops and Gavin Decena an interception.

 

Junior novice

Knights 35, Outlaws 6

Tyce Thompson tallied three touchdown runs and set up a fourth for Ripon.

Thomson scored from 55, 60 and 68 yards out and had an 85-yard scoring run that set up a Luke Sanders 1-yard scoring plunge. Alex Lora added a 66-yard touchdown gallop.

Thompson, Lora, Sanders and Mearl Thompson were the Knights offensive leaders.

Lucas Durao mad six tackles for Ripon. Jaxson Quilantang added five stops and Hudson Postma four.
