Knights varsity rolls over Sabres in TVL

MODESTO – Jacob Cormier and Blake Nichelson led the Ripon Knights varsity to a 40-0 shellacking of the Big Valley Sabres on Saturday in Trans-Valley Youth Football League action at Big Valley High School 

 Jacob Cormier ran for 163 yards and Nichelson (91 yards rushing) scored three touchdowns. Trey Fasani scored added two rushing and Derek Van Elderen scored once.

 Nichelson led the defense with 11 tackles and Thys Vanderhoek had 10.

 

Junior Varsity

Knights 52, Sabres 0

Jace Beidleman scored three times for the Knights.

 Beidleman had touchdown throws of 17 yards to Jameson Clark and 10 yards to Quentin Clark as well as a 17-yard scoring run. Stephen Dillman had a pair of rushing touchdowns behind 70 yards rushing, Jacob Camper (41 yards rushing) had a 24-yard touchdown run and Carson Sanders added a rushing touchdown. Preston Zuidervaart chipped in a 34-yard reception. 

 Camper and Cade Gemmell had eight tackles apiece to pace the Ripon defense. Andrew Mensonidis (interception) added seven stops, Sanders six with Anden Reis (five tackles), Jackson Baber and Chase Bogetti each tipping a pass. Brody Nail and Roman Guzman also contributed on defense.

Northern California Youth Football Varsity

Lodi Titans 18, Manteca Jr. Timberwolves 13

 Alijah Cota and Keanu Duenas combined for more than 200 yards for the Jr. Timberwolves. 

 Cota racked up 138 yards on 16 carries while Duenas (13 carries, 80 yards) tallied a 10-yard touchdown run. Evyn White added a 3-yard scoring run. 

Jason Agulay led the Manteca defense with five tackles. Duenas added four stops, Cota and Jessica Perea had three apiece with Tommy Perea, Dominic Ferreira-Moniz and Phillip Dominguez all chipping in on defense.


Junior Varsity

Colts 25, Cowboys 6

Bryson Davis tied the game for the Cowboys at 6-6 with a 6-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

 Davis ground out 127 yards on 14 carries. Izahay Houston (48 yards) and Gabriel Flores (41 yards) each had eight carries.

 Blake Mount was in on 15 tackles to lead the Manteca defense. Isaac Alvarez added 14 stops, 

Ivan Alvarez 10, Davis eight and Gavin Goodwin seven.

 

Rookies

Cowboys 13, Colts 6

Jeremy Ap’e and Christopher Gallego each scored on a 2-yard touchdown run for the Cowboys. 

Ap’e gained 78 yards on six carries, Gallego had 10 carries for 53 yards and Robbie Espinosa tallied 40 yards on six carries.

 Ap’e made eight tackles, Gallego five, Koa Rodrigues and Mehtaab Bhangu four apiece and Gabriel Lopez, Iziaha Gray and Kayden Jones three apiece.

 

Titans 6,

Jr. Timberwolves 0

The Titans broke the scoreless tie in the fourth quarter.

Albert Menchaca gained 62 yards on 10 carries for the Jr. Timberwolves. Cameron Diego added 52 yards on eight carries, Preston Smith ran the ball 11 rush times for 33 yards and Maddox Morales had 32 yards on six carries.

Erik Vaquera made 10 tackles and forced two fumbles for Manteca. Robert Gaston added nine stops, Damian Delgadillo seven, Gilbert Luiz II (fumble recovery) and Isabellah Crabb had five each and Owen Gully made an interception.

 

Starts

Cowboys 30, Colts 0

 Manteca’s Elias Lopez set the stage for the day when he returned the opening kickoff 60 yards for a touchdown.

 By the time the dust settled, Lopez had run the ball had run the ball eight times for 166 yards with touchdown runs of 32, 40 and 58 yards. Landon Sanders added a 2-yard touchdown run and 

Kaleb Moreno had five carries for 52 yards.

Elias Lopez and Landon Sanders had five stops apiece and Moreno and Aiden Brown each made four tackles.

 

Jr. Timberwolves 31, Titans 7

Leiland Riggelman scored three touchdowns for Manteca.

Riggelman picked up 85 yards on six carries with scoring runs of 12, 16 and 24 yards. Elijah Pugh (three carries, 64 yards) scored on a run of 27 yards and Alex Espinoza had a 25-yard touchdown run. 

Brody Carabello chipped in 84 yards on three carries 84yds  and Kendall Sweet-Mallory ran the ball three times for 41 yards. 

Brody Carabello (three tackles) and Riggelman each recovered a fumble. Elijah Pugh, Brennan McMichael, Brixton Ortiz and Tino Torres all had major contributions on defense.

Motherlode Valley Football League Junior Varsity

Ripon Chiefs 48,

Sonora Jr. Cats 6

SONORA – Kevin Wentworth scored three touchdowns for the Chiefs and Kaden MacDannald, Garrison Reis and Xzavier Clark each scored a pair of touchdowns.

 MacDannald (three carries, 38 yards; three receptions, 70 yards) had touchdown catches on a 45-yard pass from Wentworth (six carries, 93 yards; two receptions, 25 yards; 2 for 2 passing, 49 yards) and on a 3-yard pass from Garrison Reis (3 for 4 passing, 50 yards). Wentworth had a 30-yard touchdown run and pulled in a 22-yard scoring pass from Reis and Clark scored the two times he touched the ball – on runs of 3 and 35 yards. Seth Van Dyk added four carries for 25 yards.

 Fernando Alaniz led the Ripon defense with eight tackles and a forced fumble. Van Dyk and Canaan Clark had five tackles apiece, with Reis, MacDannald and Jesus Ochoa getting four stops each.
