Spreckels Park held ABA BMX races and had 68 racers from around the Northern California Area participating this past Sunday.

There was great racing in the Novice and Intermediate classes with several local standouts.  The 6-Novice race had seven riders in total, with six moving on through qualifying to an action-packed Main Event race. 

Faye Hernandez got the holeshot and took the early lead and was able to come out with a big victory, followed by Ethan Coover of Orinda, and Kody Gibson of Livermore. 

It was a back-and-forth in battle between three local racers in 11-year-old intermediate. Modesto Maniax rider Justin Dias of Manteca won the first two rounds, and placed well enough in the Main Event to take the overall win.

Races are held on Sundays, signup and practice times 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ABA BMX Membership information is available on race day. 

The track is located at Spreckels Ave. (cross street Moffat Blvd).
