SALINAS — Zac McCasland led off the game with a single Thursday, but that was all the Northgate 13-14-year-old All-Stars could muster in their final game of the season.
They lost to tournament host Atlantic 6-0 in the California Division II Junior League Championships held at Alisal High.
Northgate struggled at the plate, striking out six times. Northgate drew three walks and reached on one fielder’s choice and one error. McCasland was the only Northgate runner to reach second base.
The game was scoreless until Atlantic put up four runs in the third inning. Atlantic added a run in both the fifth and sixth innings.
