The Ripon 11-U All Stars bounced back from an early deficit Monday night to handle Northgate 11-5 and win the District 67 championship at Thiemann Athletic Park.
Northgate got on the board first when Dominic Hersman singled and plated Jason Colon for a 1-0 lead. That would be the only lead of the night for Northgate.
Ripon answered back in the bottom of the first inning when Dylan Jasper knocked in Elias Sandoval and Pete Winters drew a bases-loaded walk, scoring
Jacob Petersen Ripon kept it up in the second inning with Tallon Koolhaas and Sandoval each rapping an RBI single, scoring Derek Ponce and Ben Boling, respectively. Sandoval and Petersen scored later in the frame on errors.
Ripon tallied 13 hits. Jasper was 2 for 3 with two RBI. Sandoval, Petersen, Ponce, and Gavin Cloward chipped in two hits apiece with Sandoval and Peterson scoring three runs apiece.
Petersen started on the bump for Ripon, yielding five hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Sandoval came on in relief.
Jason Colon, Makaio Jackson, and Vinnie Haro each tallied two hits for Northgate with Dominic Hersman, Makaio Jackson, and Damyn Gonzales each driving in a run and Northgate converted one double play.

Ripon punched its ticket to the championship game
thanks in part to an 11-run fourth inning on Saturday.
Ripon amassed 15 hits in the game. Ponce went 3 for 3 with four RBI and a triple. Petersen and Sandoval tallied three hits, with Jasper and Winters collecting multiple hits. Koolhaas notched two of his team’s seven walks. Peterson and Jasper stole multiple bases as Ripon totaled seven steals in all.
Ripon did not commit an error and Ponce made seven plays. Sandoval threw 2.2 innings as the starting pitcher with no hits, six strikeouts and one walk. Jasper came on in relief and threw
1.2 innings, allowing one hit, striking out four and walking none.
Ripon will represent District 67 in the Section 6 Championships on Saturday, July 18, at 7 p.m. against the District 8 champion in Turlock.
