TURLOCK — Manteca’s Seth Van Dyk pitched out of a horrific jam in the fourth inning Monday and pocketed a complete-game win in a 3-1 win over Turlock American in championship-round action of the Section 6 10-11-year-old All-Star Tournament at Julien Field. 
Manteca handed Turlock an infield error to start the fourth inning, and that was followed up by a single, an infield single and an RBI single for get one run across to bring Turlock within 3-1 and still have the bases loaded.
Van Dyk bounced back with a strikeout and two line-drive shots pulled down by Blake Mejorado at shortstop and Diego Esparza at second to escape the inning with minimal damage.
Van Dyk tallied five strikeouts, allowed five hits with no walks and no earned runs.
Manteca wasted little time taking in the lead. Tyler Paul Wentworth led off the bottom of the first with a double, took third on Van Dyk’s groundout and came home on a wild pitch. Manteca tallied two runs in the third when Van Dyk led the frame off with a double and scored on a single by Connor Navarro (2 for 3, RBI, double). Nate Dorn made it 3-0 when he scored on a bases-loaded walk to Esparza.
The same two teams meet again tonight to determine the championship at 7 p.m.
