LATHROP — The public is invited to the admission-free showing of “fireproof” scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, and 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15.

The church is located at 107 D’arcy Parkway.

Those attending any of the two showings are encouraged to come at least 15 minutes early to the snack pack for refreshments and other goodies.

“Fireproof” stars former teen idol Kirk Cameron from the television sitcom “Growing Pain.” Today, he devotes his acting skills towards his Christian ministry.

Cameron stars as Capt. Caleb Holt, who lives by the old firefighter’s adage: Never leave your partner behind.

But at home, he’s caught up in a rocky marriage while living life by his own rules. Included are arguments over jobs, finances, housework, and outside interests.

As he and his wife prepare to enter divorce proceedings, Caleb’s father challenges his son to commit to a 40-day experiment: “The Love Dare.”

It’s there that Caleb, who agrees on “The Love Dare” for his father’s sake more than for his marriage, discovers the book’s daily challenges are tied into the newfound faith of his parents.
