RIPON - The Central Valley Association of Realtors (CVAR) held their annual awards luncheon on July 25 at Spring Creek Golf & Country Club. Awards were given for “Masters Club” which honors top agents in the area based on sales volume. Also awarded were the Realtor & Affiliate of the Year awards for each respective council of CVAR.

This year the Manteca council of CVAR presented Brandon Joaquin of Re/Max Executive with the Realtor of the Year award, and Deborah Romero of Ability Mortgage with the Affiliate of the Year award. These awards are given in recognition of outstanding service and contributions to the Real Estate profession and the community.  Both award winners are heavily involved in the Manteca council weekly marketing meetings, which they co-chaired together for two consecutive 6 month terms. Joaquin & Romero also organized charitable events for CVAR, including the annual Manteca council golf tournament (benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank) and the annual Manteca council bowling tournament (benefiting MUSD’s Christmas Wishes program). Along with all the annual events they managed, Joaquin & Romero also found time to initiate a scholarship program in 2011 for Manteca/Ripon/Lathrop high schools seniors. Both winners have served on the local council for several years. Joaquin is currently a Board of Director for CVAR, and the incoming YPN (Young Professionals Network) chair. Joaquin has been a licensed Realtor at Re/Max Executive in Manteca for six years.

Romero has been a loan officer at Ability Mortgage in Manteca and Ripon for 12 plus years. Romero currently sits on the East Union Site Council and has previously sat on the McParland Site Council.  She will be running for Manteca Unified School Board Trustee for Area 5 this November.
