The Manteca Police Street Crimes Unit (SCU) obtained evidence in a case that led them to Stockton where they found $3.2 million in marijuana plants and packaged product ready for sale in two large marijuana grows.
Some 2,793 pounds of marijuana was seized under the direction of Sgt. Chris Mraz.
Once at the Stockton location Lt. Tony Souza said officers could see marijuana growing over the fence line and were able to smell it some two blocks away. With the aid of the Manteca/Ripon SWAT team they served search warrants at two Stockton residences.
One was located in the 3600 block of Mary Lane and the other in the 3600 block of Harvey Avenue. At the Mary Lane address detectives discovered 73 marijuana plants with a growth up to 12 feet tall. Marijuana was also found in various stages of production, officers said.
Two rooms in the home were used for drying and there was reportedly over 10 pounds of processed and packaged marijuana in the home. The weight of the growing plants, drying plants and packaged material total 1,380 pounds, Lt. Souza said. Detectives also located a firearm in the residence.
At the second location on Harvey Avenue, Manteca police located 157 marijuana plants. They also found 33 pounds of processed and packaged marijuana. The weight of the growing plants, drying plants and packaged marijuana totaled 1,413 pounds. Detectives also seized $3,000 in cash.

Barragan is in custody in lieu of $170,000 bail and is charged with four felonies including conspiracy.
